Our design team was determined to break new ground in creating a fly rod that would provide wind-cutting power out to incredible distances and still have the ability to deliver soft, delicate casts with pin-point accuracy up close. Technology and innovative design has allowed us to meet that objective! Focusing separately on each of the 5 sections, we graphed the performance features that were most important in meeting our design goals and then tweaked the composite structure of each to deliver optimum performance at every level.
The use of Boron for its strength and core stiffness was a key element in creating power and line speed, which translates into the ability to drive long casts into unforgiving wind conditions. As the rod transitions through the fine tolerances of each internal ferrule, we finish the rod with a soft tip that allows for delicate presentations and the protection of ultra-fine tippets.
The result is an extremely fishable rod that has plenty of power in reserve and is just waiting for you to step on the gas! So, go ahead and challenge a 5Xe at your favorite fly shop, you’ll see that the future of fly-fishing is here today!
Our 5-piece design travels easily and the high-performance, internal ferrules will maximize the power generated through each of the custom designed sections.
We use only Fuji SiC Stripping Guides for the highest possible line speeds and lifetime durability.
To keep these rods extremely light and to enhance line speed, we use only titanium snake foot guides.
Our 5Xe series handle design features a slightly shorter and thinner surface area to deliver exceptional touch in delicate situations while still providing solid control under tough conditions or when you need a little extra distance. Using a unique blend of premium Portuguese cork throughout the main body of the handle, we finish both ends with a special cork composite for durability, appearance and power. The result is a handle that melts into your hand and simply becomes an extension of your thoughts.
The 5Xe travel case is handcrafted from fine graphite composite making it incredibly light. We close each end with a machined aluminum cap before delivering it to you; we complete every rod tube with a highly polished lacquer finish, exactly like the rods. Before placing your new rod in the tube, each section is carefully inserted into a rich, burgundy storage bag to keep it safe during your travels. This is unquestionably the most beautiful travel case a fly rod will ever be protected in.
